Answer 4 for HRM 635 How can the organization’s leadership support individuals seeking to relocate laterally or advance their careers by moving into a position of higher authority within their organization?
Many people work the same job for many years because there is no option to move laterally or higher, because leadership does not have a set plan to help support individuals with the drive and passion to advance in the workforce. Working the same job for many years can be flat and cause the worker to lose the passion that they once had when starting in the position. By having something to always work for it can be beneficial to have the support from leadership to help you out in any way, no matter the move you want to make. Having a leader that looks at what they have internally and can see that they have potential is a good plan to help enhance loyalty. “Employee promotions don’t just fill a gap, they nurture loyalty, enhance motivation, and ignite morale within your organization” (Rohman, 2023). By treating your own with the respect that they have earned by working for the organization shows everyone in the organization that you take care of your own, and that if you work hard and stay loyal that you can be taken care of too.
