Organizations playing a role in career management is very important and can lead to employees staying with an organization. There are different ways that organizations can support their employees who seek to advance their knowledge and careers. One of the best ways an organization can help support their employees is by offering career coaches. Career coaches help employees create career plans showing where their careers with the firm may lead. Then the coaches and the organization help individual employees identify their development needs to reach their career goals and then assist in obtaining the training, professional development, and networking opportunities that they require to satisfy those needs (Dessler, 2019). When an organization is able to provide resources for employees to help them learn and gain knew knowledge and skills, they feel supported by their organization and can gain a sense of accomplishment when new skills are learned which can help support employee retention.
