NR 505 Week 5 Research Literature Design Sampling and Implementation

To successfully complete the Week 5 assignment in the NR505 Advanced Research Methods: Evidence-Based Practice course, students will continue developing their MSN Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) scholarly project. This assignment builds on the work done in Week 2, where students identified a nursing concern and developed a PICOT or PICo question. The focus of this assignment is on discussing the research-based literature that supports the selected nursing concern, identifying an appropriate research design, explaining the sampling method, and discussing the implementation process using a change model.

Assignment Purpose:

The purpose of this assignment is to:

  1. Provide comprehensive research literature support for the identified nursing concern and the associated PICOT/PICo question.
  2. Identify and justify the research approach and design appropriate for the EBP project.
  3. Explain the sampling method that will be used for the project.
  4. Discuss how the implementation of the project will be guided by a change model.

Requirements and Criteria:

1. Research Literature Support:

  • PICOT/PICo Question Restatement: Before presenting the research literature, the student must restate the PICOT/PICo question that was developed in Week 2.
  • Research Literature: A minimum of 10 research-based references related to the PICOT/PICo question must be provided. The research studies selected should be consistent with the identified nursing concern. Systematic reviews cannot be used as references; all studies must be original research articles.
  • Details for Each Reference: For each research study cited, the following information must be discussed:
    • Purpose: What was the purpose of the research study?
    • Research Approach: What research approach (qualitative or quantitative) was used in the study?
    • Data Collection Methods: How was data collected in the study?
    • Results: What were the key findings of the study?
    • Strength: Identify one strength of the research study.
    • Limitation: Identify one limitation of the research study.

2. Research Approach and Design:

  • Selection of Approach: The student must identify whether the EBP project will use a quantitative or qualitative research approach.
  • Design Justification: The choice of design should be justified based on the nature of the PICOT/PICo question and the type of data needed to answer it.

3. Sampling Method:

  • Description of Sampling Method: The student must describe the sampling method that will be used for the EBP project.
  • Rationale for Sampling Method: Explain why this sampling method is appropriate for the project and how it aligns with the research approach and design.

4. Implementation and Change Model:

  • Change Model: The student must discuss how the implementation of the EBP project will be guided by a specific change model.
  • Steps of Implementation: Outline the steps that will be taken to implement the project, including how the change model will support each step.
