The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) has defined the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice. These essentials outline the core competencies and educational outcomes expected from graduates of baccalaureate nursing programs. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the AACN had eight essentials. Please note that these essentials may be subject to updates or revisions over time.
